Named winner at the Cannes Film Festival 2023

Rima Abdul Malek, Minister of Culture, unveiled the names of the winners of the “La Grande Fabrique de l’Image” Call for Projects, part of the ambitious “France 2030” investment plan, during the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

Pics Studio is named the laureate in the “Shooting Studios” category.

This labeling is significant in the landscape of film production in France, Europe, and internationally. It expresses the industrial will of the French state and aims to double the filming capacities in France.

Pics Studio has started its deployment in the Greater Montpellier area. Pics Studio is part of the Mediterranean Arc, a preferred filming location identified by producers worldwide.

Pics Studio establishes a comprehensive, internationally oriented ecosystem, 100% open to all types of productions, in the service of film and audiovisual creation. The completion of its infrastructure is planned for 2026.

Pics Studio provides a strong response to the global demand for filming needs, national sovereignty, and “Made in France.”

The creation of Pics Studio in the Occitanie region is undoubtedly a major asset of general, economic, and cultural interest, densifying the local industrial fabric and creating a large number of direct and indirect jobs.

With its 3 sites (Saint-Gély-du-FescPérolsFabrègues) radiating around Montpellier, its commitments to innovation, technology, environmental standards, team accommodation, and education through its campus, the “one-stop-shop” Pics Studio enhances and supports the influence of the French cultural industry.

The Pics Studio team would like to thank all its partners, local, regional, and national institutions supporting the deployment of Pics Studio for the past 5 years.

Pics Studio also thanks the entire industry for its dynamism and congratulates the France 2030 laureates from the Occitanie region.

This trust granted by the state is a new collective milestone, thanks to the support of the elected officials of the municipality of Saint-Gély-du-Fesc, the Grand Pic Saint-Loup Community of Communes, the municipalities of Pérols and Fabrègues, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, the department of Hérault, the Occitanie Region, as well as the prefectures of Hérault and Occitanie.
